Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Sidelines handles information when you use the Sidelines Discord application (“Sidelines,” “the app,” or “we”). Sidelines is provided by Xinate, LLC, the company that owns XinateStudios. This policy applies to the Sidelines bot and this website.
Information Sidelines processes
When you use the bot, Sidelines processes Discord identifiers and the settings needed to provide its features. Depending on what you use, this can include:
- Your Discord user ID and the IDs of servers and channels where Sidelines is configured.
- Your chosen teams and whether you enabled game alerts or score updates.
- Your preferred time zone, daily schedule time, whether to mention you in the schedule DM, and whether the schedule is paused.
- Profile visibility and your most recent game check-in; game check-ins include the server, game, and your Discord user ID.
- Message and channel identifiers for the bot’s pinned panel, personal schedule board, community scoreboard, and live score alert so Sidelines can update them after a restart.
- Operational records used to avoid sending duplicate alerts.
Sidelines does not ask for your Discord password, read server chat messages, or collect payment details. If you choose to make your Sidelines profile public, members in that server may see the profile details presented by the bot, such as your Discord display name, avatar, followed teams, and most recent game pick. Your alert and schedule settings remain private.
How information is used
Sidelines uses this information only to provide and maintain the features you or a server administrator select: team subscriptions, private alerts and schedules, server-selected alerts and scoreboards, profiles, game check-ins, and protection against duplicate messages. The website is a static information and installation page; it does not provide an account, use advertising cookies, or run analytics.
Where information is stored and shared
Sidelines stores bot settings and operational records in a SQLite database on the server operated by the person or organization hosting that Sidelines installation. Discord identifiers and messages are also processed by Discord when the bot uses Discord’s services. Sports schedules and scores are requested from TheSportsDB. Sidelines does not send your Discord user ID or subscription choices to TheSportsDB.
The website’s web server may create routine connection and error logs, such as IP address, request path, and browser information, for security and troubleshooting. Those logs are controlled by the server operator and its hosting or network providers.
Retention and deletion
Subscription and schedule settings remain in the bot’s database until you change them, request deletion, or the operator removes the installation and its data. Server configuration remains while the server uses the bot. Alert-deduplication and message-reference records are retained as needed to prevent repeats and update active game cards.
To request access to or deletion of information associated with your Discord account, contact support@xinate.com and include your Discord user ID, the relevant server name, and what you want removed. Do not send your bot token or password. We will process valid deletion requests without undue delay, subject to applicable legal and security obligations. We may need to verify the request and may retain limited records where required by law. Removing Sidelines from a server stops bot activity there but does not automatically erase that server’s records from the host database; contact us to request deletion.
Children and eligibility
Sidelines is intended for people who are eligible to use Discord under Discord’s age requirements and the laws where they live. The app is not designed for children below the minimum age required by Discord or applicable law.
Security and changes
The server operator is responsible for securing the host and bot token. No internet service can guarantee perfect security. We may update this policy when Sidelines changes; the effective date above will be revised when we publish an update.
